Introduction to ABS System

ABS system is also called anti-lock braking device, which is the abbreviation of English Antilock Braking System, also called ABS. ABS system is mainly composed of three main parts: electronic control unit, sensor and hydraulic regulator (solenoid valve).

The ABS system is a safety device that prevents the wheels from being locked during the braking process, prevents the wheels from purely slipping on the road, improves the directional stability and steering ability of the car during the braking process, and shortens the braking distance. .

1. The working principle of ABS system

During the braking process of the car, the ABS system calculates and judges the slip state of the wheel through the wheel speed signal collected by the sensor. Supercharging and pressure keeping control, so that the slip rate is controlled in the ideal range.

(1) When the electronic control unit detects the tendency of the wheels to lock, the electronic control unit reduces the braking pressure by controlling the braking system;

(2) When the wheel speed recovers and the ground friction tends to decrease, the electronic control unit controls the braking system to increase the braking pressure.

In this way, the wheel is always in the vicinity of the optimal slip rate, the ground adhesion can be used most effectively, the best braking distance and braking stability can be obtained, and the wheels can be prevented from locking.

The ABS system can control the braking torque acting on the wheels in real time, so that the slip rate is always kept within the ideal range, so that the vehicle can obtain a larger lateral force and maximum braking force, thereby ensuring the stable braking of the vehicle.

2. Working principle of ABS ring gear

The ABS ring gear rotates with the tires of the vehicle, thereby generating a wheel speed signal, which is transmitted to the ECU through the AC power generated by the sensor, and finally the ABS system.

The system analyzes the data to determine the speed of the tires to prevent the tires from locking.

The wheel speed sensor has an electromagnetic coil that can generate magnetic lines of force. It is installed on a fixed part near the wheel. The abs ring gear is installed on the wheel hub. The rotation of the wheel drives the abs ring gear to rotate, and the abs ring gear cuts the magnetic lines of force to make the electromagnetic coil in the sensor Induction, the pulse rate of which is proportional to the wheel speed and transmitted to the ECU (in the electronic controller).

To put it simply, the working principle of the ABS ring gear is to send the wheel speed signal generated by the rotation of the wheel to the ABS system. The ABS ring gear mainly tests and detects the wheel speed.
